Summary

Shanti Johnson is a lecturer in the Human Development and Family Science program at the 推荐杏吧原创. Born and raised in rural Nevada, she earned both her B.S. (2023) and M.S. (2025) in Human Development and Family Science from the 推荐杏吧原创. During her graduate studies, she served as a graduate teaching assistant, working with the NevadaFIT Central Team, taught HDFS 201: Lifespan Human Development and supported service-learning experiences in courses such as HDFS 231: Practicum with Children and Families and HDFS 470: PreProfessional Internship.

Professor Johnson’s journey in higher education began as a writing coach at Western Nevada College, where she developed an early passion for supporting student success. Her professional and research interests focus on strategies that alleviate barriers and expand access to higher educational attainment for non-traditional students and youth with foster-care experiences. Professor Johnson is a Certified Family Life Educator and is dedicated to bringing her background and passion for student success forward to the development of the HDFS Online program.

In her spare time, she performs in various symphonies and loves various outdoor activities such as rock climbing, practicing yoga, and bird watching.
