University fellowship and scholarship awards

These monetary awards are provided by on-campus affiliates to students who either apply directly or are nominated by program directors.

To be considered for departmental scholarships/awards, graduate students must complete the annual scholarship application in supplemental forms. The scholarship application is available starting October 1 of the prior calendar year and is due February 15 of the calendar year in which the school year begins.

Please note that the following online programs are not currently eligible to receive state-funded scholarships or awards; the does not apply. Aid may be available through third-party funding, loans, donor-funded scholarships (requires Scholarship Application), or self-funded departmental resources. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid And Scholarships for additional information about available funding for online programs.

The Graduate School awards a combination of fellowships and scholarships each year to an elite selection of master's and doctoral students who show the potential to make substantive contributions to their discipline.

Raymond H. Berner Scholarship

Every year the Graduate Student Association gives approximately $60,000 in awards and scholarships to graduate students at the University through a highly competitive selection process judged by faculty and administrators.

The Ronald E. McNair Post Baccalaureate Achievement Program is designed to help prepare undergraduate students from disadvantaged backgrounds for doctoral studies through involvement in research and other scholarly activities.
