Kailani Alarcon

Born and raised in the Reno-Sparks area, Kailani is majoring in electrical engineering, R.A.V.E.S. Emphasis with a minor in math. She was drawn to connect with the University’s community through becoming an Honors Ambassador where she guides students through the challenges she has experienced herself. As an Honors Ambassador, she takes part in local outreach and helps uplift the community she grew up in, showing that success is both attainable and rewarding career-wise. A fun-fact about her is that she’s on a first-name basis with Ticketmaster.

Mabel Kim

Headshot of Mabel KimOriginally from San Francisco, California, Mabel is majoring in information systems and minoring in cybersecurity. She was drawn to the University for its strong academic programs and sense of community, particularly within the Honors College. During her free time, she enjoys taking walks in nature, creating digital artwork, managing her own YouTube channel, playing games, and practicing photography. Mabel aims to expand her knowledge of technology and enhance her professional experiences at the University. As an Honors Ambassador, she wants to use her enthusiasm for the University to share the Honor College's benefits with prospective students.

Muskan Atrafi

Originally born in Afghanistan and raised in Dayton, Nevada, Muskan is majoring in finance with a minor in economics. She was drawn to become an Honors Ambassador to become more involved in The Honors College and help build a stronger, more connected community where each student is supported and valued. Her goals are to encourage student engagement, contribute to meaningful programming, and help create an inclusive and inspiring environment for Honors students. A fun-fact about Muskan is that she speaks four languages!

Dasha Yu

Headshot of Dasha YuOriginally from Las Vegas, Nevada, Dasha is majoring in biology and minoring in psychology. She was drawn to The Honors College to connect with more peers and become more involved in the community. She's also passionate about marketing and outreach and took becoming an Honors Ambassador as an opportunity to step out of her comfort zone. By becoming an Honors Ambassador, Dasha hopes to make lifelong memories and improve her skills in graphic design and recruitment. A fun-fact about Dasha is that she loves painting and reading Webtoons in her free time.

Mari Nava

Headshot of Mari NavaBorn and raised in Reno, Nevada, Mari is triple majoring in political science, international affairs, and philosophy. She was drawn to becoming an Honors Ambassador to connect more with The Honors College and to get more involved at the University as a whole. Her goals as an Honors Ambassador are to attract more first-generation students and provide them with access to resources offered by The Honors College. A fun-fact about Mari is that she is a first-generation student, loves Laufey and loves TikTok brainrot.

Maya Muha

Headshot of Maya MuhaOriginally from Las Vegas, Nevada, Maya is majoring in electrical engineering and biomedical engineering. She became an Honors Ambassador to connect more with others in The Honors College and to promote it to people who aren’t in it. Her goals as an Honors Ambassador are to create material for the social media page and build her networking skills. A fun-fact about Maya is that the kanji for her name means “increasingly jasmine.”

Taylor Adams

He was drawn to become an Honors Ambassador because he enjoys recruitment and public speaking. His goal as an Honors Ambassador is to be as helpful as possible to his peers and team members. A fun-fact about Taylor is that he really enjoys Asian food.

Eshal Khan

Headshot of Eshal KhanRaised in Reno, Nevada, Eshal is majoring in neuroscience with a minor in analytical chemistry. She was drawn to become an Honors Ambassador because she believes that everyone has a right to an education that pushes them to succeed and garner traits and skills that will help them throughout personal and academic endeavors, which is what The Honors College is perfect for. Her goal as an Honors Ambassador is to help develop the skills of future scholars and allow them to understand that struggle is not only ok, but is also necessary for growth. A fun-fact about Eshal is that she was born in Pakistan and can speak five languages.

Hamna Yasir

Headshot of Hamna YasirRaised in Reno, Nevada, Hamna is majoring in international affairs with law and justice specialization. She became an Honors Ambassador to learn more about the Honors experience and inform other students about the resources it offers. Her goal as an Honors Ambassador is to show students that they can personalize their Honors education. A fun-fact about Hamna is that she was born in Pakistan.

Charlie Kitchen

Headshot of Charlie KitchenOriginally from Robbinsdale, Minnesota, Charlie is double majoring in psychology and Spanish. She was drawn to become an Honors Ambassador because she wanted to learn more about The Honors College and immerse herself in it and meet more people. Her goals as an Honors Ambassador is to bring more people into The Honors College and increase awareness and encourage people to check it out. Some fun-facts about Charlie is that she loves to visit National Parks, collect pennies, and she has played flag football for the past three years.

Heather Cajucom

Headshot of Heather CajucomOriginally from the Bay Area, California, Heather is majoring in business management with minors in psychology and Human Resources. She was drawn to become an Honors Ambassador because she is passionate about advocacy and justice for marginalized communities. Her goals as an Honors Ambassador is to build stronger connections with peers in The Honors College and become more involved by gaining leadership and bonding experiences. As an Honors Ambassador, Heather plans to support and uplift students from all backgrounds and bring awareness to the diverse realities that shape people’s lives. A fun-fact about Heather is that she loves dogs and spending quality time with her family.

Karla Martin

Headshot of Karla MartinBorn in Ventura, California to two Mexican immigrant parents, Karla is majoring in veterinary science with a minor in cell and molecular biology. She chose to be an Honors Ambassador because she loves sharing the benefits of The Honors College, talking about her experiences, and connecting with future students. Her goal is to be the final push someone needs to take the leap and join. A lot of the time, it really does take one extra step, and it almost always ends up being a great decision! Some fun-facts about Karla are that she speaks fluent Spanish, she loves to read, and her favorite book is The Awakening. Her favorite show is the anime Jujutsu Kaisen, and she is also a huge fan of horror and psychological movies.

Siena Howard

Headshot of Siena HowardOriginally from Las Vegas, Nevada, Siena is majoring in political science with a minor in music. At The Honors College, she works as Communications Coordinator. She first joined the Honors team to become more involved with the University and work to give more students access to academic and career opportunities. Through her role, she supports The Honors College’s vital work in uplifting the community and furthering student success. Outside of work, Siena’s hobbies are hiking, reading fantasy books, and drawing. A fun-fact about Siena is that she loves Snoopy.

Kyrsten Aguirre

Headshot of Krysten AguirreBorn and raised in Reno, Nevada, Krysten is majoring in criminal justice with a minor in French. At The Honors College, she works closely with the social media team as well as the Honor Ambassadors. She was drawn to The Honors College to become more involved with the University and work on her networking skills. Her goals as an Honors Ambassador are to recruit more students from different backgrounds into The Honors College and showcase diversity on campus through social media. A fun-fact about Krysten is that she can speak three languages, collects jewelry, and loves traveling.

Yuka Takeuchi

Headshot of Yuka TakeuchiOriginally from Tokyo, Japan, Yuka moved to the United States as an international student to challenge herself within the Honors College. As a junior pursuing a double major in Finance and Accounting, her academic path is driven by a global perspective and a commitment to excellence. Her journey has been defined by a search for belonging and a passion for global perspectives—a journey that recently took her to Verona, Italy, for the Fall 2025 semester. During her time abroad, she traveled to over 12 countries, gaining a deep appreciation for diverse cultures and the shared experience that connected us all.

As an Honors Ambassador, her mission is to build a vibrant, supportive community. She is dedicated to inspiring and motivating her peers, particularly those who may be struggling to find their "place" on campus. She believes that every student deserves to feel they belong, and she strive to create an environment where we can all empower one another to succeed.
